The Christ is a principle
In esoteric teaching the Christ is not only a historical person but a principle and an office: the energy that unites the poles of spirit and matter. This energy can awaken in every person. That is why Pisces is called the sign of the "world saviour"; the saviour is not one individual but the soul within each of us.
Pisces: the light of life
The two fishes of Pisces express the link between soul and personality. Light flows from the soul into the personality; the bridge between them is the path of consciousness Bailey calls the antahkarana, or rainbow bridge. Neptune builds illusions, while Pluto liberates the spiritual will and asks: what purpose do you serve?
The science of service
The Tibetan says three new sciences will emerge in the coming period: the science of the mind principle, the science of the antahkarana, and the science of service. Service is the spontaneous effect of soul contact. A true server has three marks: harmlessness, allowing others to serve in their own way, and joy.
Aries: where ideas are born
Aries is essentially a mental sign; ideas are born here. Behind every form there is an archetype, a perfect model. Mars carries the fire of experience, Mercury the fire of knowledge. The spring equinox is the resurrection of nature and of the soul; Easter tells the story of this process.
Taurus: from desire to aspiration
In Taurus desire is seen as a pull from the soul and passes through three phases: the passion to possess, the search for freedom, and cooperation with a higher order. Aspiration is desire touched by the mind. Taurus is the sign of illumination, which is why the Wesak festival at the May full moon is linked with it.
Gemini: polarity and unity
In Gemini Mercury carries knowledge, Venus love and fusion, and the Earth the meeting of the poles. Polarity implies an inner unity; dualism implies separation. The task of Gemini is to reconcile apparent opposites such as the scientific and religious world views.
The journey continues
The soul evolves from life to life through the twelve signs. Each sign is a lesson and each lesson a door. We study the whole journey, with the mythological story of the signs, through the Labours of Hercules.
