The Keynotes of the Seven Rays

The Tibetan says each of the seven rays has a keynote, both as a cosmic Being and in its effect on humanity. These notes are the barest summary of the rays.

Notes of the seven great Beings

  1. Initiation
  2. Unification
  3. Evolution
  4. Harmonisation
  5. Action
  6. Causation
  7. Expression

Notes for humanity

  1. Initiation
  2. Vision
  3. Education
  4. Intuition
  5. Liberation
  6. Idealism
  7. Organisation

Close study of these seven major and seven minor notes reveals their promise. The Tibetan adds that by the end of the Aquarian Age these notes will change somewhat, because recognition of the Will will produce great changes in humanity's polarisation and goals.

Seven forms of the divine will

Each ray carries one form of the divine will:

  • 1The will to initiate
  • 2The will to unify
  • 3The will to evolve
  • 4The will to harmonise or relate
  • 5The will to act
  • 6The will to cause
  • 7The will to express

Where humanity is concerned these seven wills appear as: that which stimulates and produces initiation; that which causes vision; that which develops sense perception into knowledge, knowledge into wisdom and wisdom into omniscience; the basis of buddhi or intuition, which is illumined will; the seed of cosmic liberation; the cause of the thought-form-making faculty in relation to the creative urge; and the principle of order.

The Great Bear, the constellations and the Earth

These seven energies flow into our solar system from one or other of the seven stars of the Great Bear. Each ray expresses itself through three of the zodiacal constellations, and these three are to that ray Being what monad, soul and body are to a human being. The Tibetan stresses that these relationships apply only to our Earth; the pattern differs for other planets.

The nature of the will cannot yet be defined, because only the Monad responds to it and man begins to grasp it only after the third initiation. The Tibetan says plainly that here he is pointing to distant goals, and that only high initiates will understand the real implications of his words.
