Seven Solar Systems and the One About Whom Naught May Be Said

The planetary Logos is a centre in the body of the solar Logos; the solar Logos is a centre in a greater Being made up of seven solar systems. At the end of this chain stands what Bailey calls the One About Whom Naught May Be Said.

This page draws on passages from Bailey's writings and on commentary about them. The commentary should be read as possibilities that invite reflection, not as settled fact.

Centre within centre

As the chakras work in the human body, the planetary Logoi work as centres of the solar Logos. The same relationship repeats on a larger scale: our solar system is one of the centres of a cosmic Logos made up of seven solar systems. A shared "sevenfold Word" of the seven solar systems is spoken of.

The seven Heavenly Men, the seven planetary Logoi, are the seven creative Builders who embody the will, energy and purpose of the solar system. Energies emerge as a threefold impulse: activity, organisation and purpose, related respectively to the third, seventh and first rays.

The Great Bear, the Pleiades and Sirius

In Bailey's writings three great sources that most influence our solar system are often named together: the seven stars of the Great Bear, the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades, and Sirius. It is implied that the great triplicity of the Great Bear, the Little Bear and the Pleiades has a special relationship with the One About Whom Naught May Be Said, these three star groups being three aspects of that ineffable Cause.

The One About Whom Naught May Be Said

This Being is the highest level that Bailey deliberately refrains from describing. It is said that man ultimately becomes one with the Logos through this Being. Many commentators think it may be a super-constellational or galactic Logos.

Some have even tried to estimate the levels numerically: through powers of seven, perhaps thirteen or so levels between our sun and a galaxy-scale Being. Such calculations are speculation and should be presented as such; their value lies in accustoming the mind to the scale of the whole.

Why it matters

Without this framework esoteric astrology shrinks into personal fortune-telling. According to the Tibetan, the solar system, though utterly small, is part of the sevenfold appearance of the same basic Cause, and so it can respond to energies from that great source. Because They persist, we persist; because They move in form, space and time, so do we.
